It all began with a simple question:
“If no one sees an athlete, how can they ever get a real opportunity?”
Like many parents, I watched my son train, improve, and work hard… yet his visibility still depended on being in the right place, at the right moment, in front of the right person.
The problem: invisible talent
In youth categories it is very common that:
- Scouts cannot attend every match.
- Coaches have little time to provide individual feedback.
- Families don’t know how to properly showcase the athlete’s progress.
- Athletes lack simple tools to present their development.
All of this results in invisible talent.
The idea: a digital “window” to talent
The idea for YouVisible came from this situation:
- A place where any athlete can upload matches, training sessions and stats.
- A place where clubs and scouts can search using filters (position, age, location…).
- A place where families can store and share progress in a safe and organised way.
We wanted visibility to depend not only on luck, but on work—and the right tools.
From notebook sketches to prototype
The first “version” of YouVisible was a collection of notes:
- An Athletes module with featured videos.
- A Clubs/Scouts module to search and follow profiles.
- A Companies & Services module (physios, nutritionists, academies, etc.) connected to the ecosystem.
Gradually, those notes became a prototype, and the prototype became a real application, driven by a clear idea:
Helping any athlete, anywhere, have a greater chance of being seen.
This was the first step. In the next articles we will explain how we went from prototype to the production launch of YouVisible.
