A useful sports calendar does more than list dates. It helps you decide whether to compete, support someone, cheer from the sidelines or explore an event for a future edition. Between 11 and 25 October 2026, these seven dates bring together cycling, mountain running, road races and triathlon in very different settings.
Information checked on 9 October 2026 against accessible official sources. Published deadlines do not guarantee places: we distinguish available forms, sold-out entries and unconfirmed details. IRONMAN blocked direct access to its pages; that limitation is stated below. Check the latest information before booking travel.

1. Marcha Women in Bike 2026: sharing the ride
On 11 October, Villanueva del Pardillo hosts a women’s cycling event where the shared experience matters as much as the route. The RFEC listing specifies women aged 16 and over and offers road and Mountain Bike options. It may appeal to riders who want an organised outing and the chance to meet other cyclists.
Your choice requires an honest assessment of bike handling, independence and experience on the relevant surface. Inclusive cycling does not mean every route can be tackled without preparation. Read the participation conditions and arrive with your bicycle checked.
Supporters can enjoy the start and finish without trying to follow the group by car. The council lists weekend activities in its official programme.
Entry status on 9 October: the RFEC listing sets a deadline of 10 October at 12:00, and the linked form is accessible. Remaining places in each option have not been confirmed. Before travelling, review times, routes, weather and updated conditions.
2. XXIII Cross al Yelmo: mountain kilometres
On 17 October, Manzanares el Real hosts approximately 16.1 km with 800 m of ascent. The FMM describes trails and a technical descent. This is a demanding mountain race, with effort, scenery and decisions about foot placement throughout.
It may interest runners accustomed to mountain climbs and descents. Consider time on the terrain, technical experience and fatigue management. Published requirements include carrying your own cup for refreshments; consult the complete rules.
For supporters, the town square brings the start and finish together. Staying there is a practical alternative to reaching mountain sections where access may be difficult and spectators must avoid disturbing runners or the environment.
Entry status on 9 October: the registration platform designated by the FMM publishes an 11 October deadline; remaining availability is unconfirmed. Some labels still refer to edition XXII, so we use the FMM listing for the edition and distance. Check course, schedule, weather and rules before setting off.
3. La Nucía Cycling: watch the Critérium or ride the Gran Fondo
La Nucía, Alicante, offers two days of cycling on 17 and 18 October. The Critérium provides a spectator experience; Sunday’s Gran Fondo advertises 132 km and 71 km, with OPEN and UCI options. Watching and riding require separate arrangements: Critérium admission does not provide a Gran Fondo race entry.
To ride, compare the actual profile, expected duration and conditions for each format. The shorter option still requires preparation and confident road riding. Check sporting requirements and rules before choosing.
Supporters can plan around the Critérium and permitted start or finish areas, checking access conditions on the official website.
Entry status on 9 October: the organiser advertises registration as open, and its linked platform gives 11 October at 23:59 as the deadline. The registration page retains some 2025 conditions, and the platform also displays an event-finished notice. Confirm that registration can actually be completed before paying or travelling. Review the 2026 route, times, weather and rules.
4. TUI Palma Marathon Mallorca: three distances in one city
On 18 October, Palma offers 10 km, half marathon and marathon races. The waterfront and urban streets help explain its appeal to runners and supporters alike. Choosing a distance requires specific preparation for the effort, turns and expected time on your feet.
The rules schedule the 10 km for 08:00 and the half marathon and marathon for 08:05. They set a minimum age of 16 for the 10 km and an adult age requirement for the other races. Read the precise eligibility wording and cut-offs; reaching the start is only part of the planning.
An Expo is listed for Friday 16 and Saturday 17, from 11:00 to 19:00, in the official programme. Supporters should check access and agree a meeting point after the race.
Entry status on 9 October: the official homepage displays “Registration SOLD OUT”. This edition is a date for registered runners and spectators, without a promise of new entries. Review times, route, weather and rules before travelling.
5. IRONMAN 70.3 Málaga: discover triathlon from the sidelines
Málaga’s date is 18 October, confirmed by the official IRONMAN registration platform. Linking swimming, cycling and running gives spectators a chance to observe transitions and different ways of managing effort. Registered athletes need preparation across all three disciplines and careful equipment planning.
Entry status on 9 October: the information supplied for this calendar identifies general registration as sold out. The registration page blocked direct rechecking. We therefore offer no opportunity to secure an entry and do not infer distances, start times or cut-offs.
Spectators can learn about triathlon and cheer from permitted points while respecting restricted areas. The Real Club Mediterráneo has published a volunteer invitation. Also consult IRONMAN’s volunteer page; available shifts have not been confirmed. Before travelling, check the athlete guide, course, times, weather and rules.
6. Ibiza Trail Maratón Festival: running the island
On 24 October, Sant Antoni de Portmany hosts Starter 11 km/+300 m, Media 28 km/+900 m and Maratón 48 km/+1,600 m, according to the official website. Media and Maratón are trail race names here, with distances different from the familiar road formats.
Choose according to trail experience, elevation and duration. The rules specify different equipment and cut-offs: check both, including for Starter. Supporters can enjoy the waterfront start and finish without entering technical sections.
Entry status on 9 October: the rules set the deadline at 12 October, 23:59, although the homepage’s pricing periods mention the 13th. We prioritise the rules. The official form displays availability for Maratón, but does not confirm remaining places across all three races; places are not guaranteed. Check the programme, course, weather and current rules before travelling.
7. Medio Maratón Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Zurich: run or cheer
On 25 October, Valencia stages a certified 21,097.5 m road race, with the start and finish announced on avenida de Tarongers on the course page. For registered runners, preparing the effort and start logistics matters as much as selecting a pace.
The rules require entrants to have turned 18 and provide wave starts and a time limit. Supporters can select points on the published route and arrange a reunion without crossing the race.
Entry status on 9 October: the official FAQ states that no new waiting-list registrations are accepted. The volunteer page announces that places are full and links to a separate waiting list. This is a date for registered runners, supporters and spectators. Check times, course, weather and rules before travelling.
How to choose without focusing only on distance
Compare elevation and surface: asphalt and a technical descent make different demands. Estimate expected duration using similar experiences, without automatically applying road pace to trails.
Review mandatory equipment, technical experience and cut-offs. Add logistics and travel, bib collection, bike transport or reaching an island. Consider temperature and weather and sensible alternatives. Include recovery between competitions: an attractive calendar does not oblige you to race repeatedly. If this edition comes too soon for your preparation, attending can inform a better decision for the future.
You can experience an event without competing
Cheering, supporting someone and exploring accessible sections of the route are worthwhile plans. Palma confirms an Expo; Málaga has a volunteer invitation through the club, while Valencia reports its volunteer places are full. These options cannot be assumed for every event.
Use official channels for updates and results; live coverage has not been confirmed for every race. Agree meeting points, respect closures and follow staff instructions. Good support also helps the event run smoothly.
