It all started with a very simple question:
“If no one sees an athlete, how can they ever have a real opportunity?”
Like many parents, I watched my son train, improve, and work hard… but his visibility depended on being in the right place, on the right day, in front of the right person.
The problem: invisible talent
In youth sports it is very common that:
- Scouts cannot attend every match.
- Coaches have limited time to give individual feedback.
- Families don’t know how to properly showcase an athlete’s development.
- Athletes themselves don’t have simple tools to show their progress.
All of this leads to the same result:
invisible talent.
The idea: a digital “window” for talent
That’s where the idea for YouVisible was born:
- A place where any athlete can upload their matches, training sessions, and statistics.
- Where clubs and scouts can search using filters like position, age, or location.
- Where families have a safe, organized, and private space to share an athlete’s progress.
We wanted visibility to depend not only on luck, but also on effort and having the right tools.
From notebook to prototype
The first version of YouVisible started as notes in a notebook:
- An Athlete module with featured videos.
- A Clubs/Scouts module to search and follow profiles.
- A Businesses and services module (physios, nutritionists, academies, etc.) connected to the ecosystem.
Little by little, the sketch became a prototype, and the prototype eventually became a real application, built around a very clear idea:
Giving every athlete, from anywhere, one more chance to be seen.
This was the first step.
In the next articles we will share how we moved from the prototype to the production launch of YouVisible.
